Feature Presentation

Intro to the Caroline Rose Foster North Jersey History & Genealogy Center

Presentation by James Lewis

The presentation will introduce researchers to the collections of The Caroline Rose Foster North Jersey History and Genealogy Center.  The collections include books on the original 13 states and a few midwestern states settled by New Jerseyans; family histories from across the state; over 6,000 maps; a wide variety of manuscript materials that cover the greater Morristown area; and more. Attendees may use the collections following the presentation.

James Lewis is a librarian and the Department Head of the Caroline Rose Foster, North Jersey History and Genealogy Center, at The Morristown and Morris Township Library. James has worked with New Jersey history and genealogy collections for over twenty years. He enjoyed working at The New Jersey Historical Society and The Charles F. Cummings New Jersey Information Center, Newark Public Library prior to taking his current position.  As an undergraduate history student, James enjoyed studying international history and has grown to have a greater appreciation for genealogy and local history. James will present an overview of the many collections in the North Jersey History & Genealogy Center.
